We are running an underwater photography workshop specifically for users of Olympus and OM System TG cameras at Roots Red Sea resort in Egypt.
Roots is a lovely British run dive resort near El Quseir with an excellent house reef.
From a photography point of view the diving is ideal. You can do long dives and get lots of practice and the variety of subject matter is extensive. For macro photographers the range of little fish such as gobies and blennies is superb along with plenty of critters such as shrimps, crabs and molluscs. Turtles, rays, reef scenes and whole gangs of lionfish make for plenty of wide angle opportunities. There are also some great excursion sites within a short journey of the resort.
The workshop will include talks each day starting on Sunday 13th June up to Friday 18th, around a number of underwater photography subjects but with specific reference to using the TG cameras. Phil will be on hand to give advice and answer questions throughout the trip and there will be a range of demo equipment available for attendees to have a try with such as wet lenses and strobes.
There’s a range of rooms available including some specially setup for people with mobility problems. The food is excellent and the bar is well stocked by Egyptian dive resort standards, they even have Heineken on draft!
The laid back atmosphere is helped by there being plenty of space with comfortable seating to chill out after a day diving, a swimming pool to relax by and lots of loungers down near the dive shade.
The staff are brilliant at looking after all your needs and the onsite dive centre Pharaoh Dive Club is professional and safe while keeping things fun

These prices are valid until 1st November 2026 after which they may rise.
The workshop fee of £150 for one week or £250 if you do this week and the following week which is a more general workshop. Those fees are payable to us.
Flights aren’t included but a number of airlines fly regularly to Hurghada from the UK and Europe.
