My first reaction to the course ending is that you did an excellent job ! In fact, the most useful thing for me to do, is to go again through all your videos right away and practice in parallel.

Online Underwater Photography Course

I want to say thank you for all your wise words and advice through the course.  I have learnt a huge amount and am beginning to (I hope) take better pictures in terms of composition.  It has also helped me to get to grips with the camera settings and understand lighting better.  There is lots more learning to do but the fun bit is putting things in to practice and seeing how they turn out. Underwater Photography Workshops

I was only able to do the first day of the workshop yesterday. Well worth the time and money. I’ve left with a greater knowledge and many great ideas and tips. I would highly recommend the course. Even with the 500 mile round trip thanks a lot. Darren West, Essex

I just want to tell you huge thank you for the UW photography course and organizing my strobe delivery just in time before my trip. As you predicted moving to manual mode of the camera initially decreased quality of my shots. But I think I have couple good ones (to my standards) out of thousands I have made. My friends and family are convinced that I have upgraded my camera. Thank you very much for your course filled with invaluable knowledge and tips. One to one tuition

Many thanks to Phil Medcalf and Anne Medcalf for my one to one tuition yesterday. Really useful day going back to basics and helping me set up and practice with my own gear. Phil is very good at getting his skills across in a friendly and informative way. Really recommend their teaching techniques, knowledge and patience. Just hope I can remember it all. I have just recently done a one to one photography course with Phil. I have quite a lot of diving experience and have had a few cameras over the years and frankly not ever tried full manual. Went to the house for a full day and made to feel very welcome and learned a great deal. Phil knew my camera (Canon G7 mk2) very well and immediately changed some settings. He was able to deliver a bespoke course for me and by the end of the day I now feel better placed to try out my camera and dual inon strobes (fully manual) wish me luck. I would definitely recommend a course or a lecture. Des Powell

I had a one to one photography course on Sunday at Scuba Tek. I was a little sceptical about learning underwater photography on land...but I took so much away with me and I am confident that my photography will improve following this session. Just a note to say thank very much for the Canon G9x ii specific zoom session. It was a great session to learn how to use the camera properly and an opportunity to ask many questions around how to get the best from our cameras and housings. Lots of hints and tips along the way and really helpfully you were able to share a view of the camera and how to navigate around the manual settings. I just bought a Canon S100 and underwater housing , and they were absolutely brilliant. This was my first venture into underwater photography kit (beyond a basic GoPro), and Phil was so helpful. We exchanged a number of emails and he gave me loads of advice - from what to get to give me the best set up for my budget, right down to how to look after and test the housing and settings to try out. Just ordered an upgrade for all my underwater photo kit. They took care to find about about the kind of diving I do, photos and videos I' like to take and what the future may hold. Really important for me to get robust kit as I have started my bucket list dive trips and did not want to leave anything to chance and lose memories. Hoping that this, ongoing advice and practice will take me from happy snapper to memorable pics. Wish I had received the same quality advice when I bought my original kit. LOVED photocamp - great value for money, Phil, Anne and Duxy were so generous with their time - from reviewing pictures to light room tutorials it's all there (plus they're a great laugh) no matter what level (ok, I'm not that good so can't speak for the experts), but it seemed to me there was something for everyone - that and great communication throughout - thanks so much xx Amanda Nelmes, Somerset

I had a fantastic time at the Red Sea Photo camp. I think everything was organised really well, the talks were great and I loved having the opportunity to dive with other photographers. I think what you offer is really good value for money too.

The info provided in the room by the resort is quite limited so might be helpful to let people know what time to attend the check dives on the first day (as in just on the email you send out before the trip).

I really enjoyed the format with talks and the fact if you missed one you could catch up, or listen again as I think you always pick different things up. I enjoyed the way the diving was quite relaxed so early birds and ‘not morning people’ could all be accommodated and there was always someone willing to dive with you. (Often you! Thanks!)

Duxy gave me some in water help a couple times - re strobe positions to prevent backscatter (I thought they were pulled back, but he pulled them back even further) and also reviewed my evening light image and gave suggestions re changing the angle I held the camera. I found that really helpful and would welcome more of that.

It was great to sit with Anne and do a little post processing too.

I did wonder if I’d feel alone on a land based trip on my own (I often do Liveaboards on my own but everyone does everything together then) but I liked the way the group got together for meals so if you wanted company you could have it, met for drinks etc.
