Following on from my previous talk about what makes a good strobe for underwater photography, this one takes a specific look at the Inon S2000 which is our best selling strobe. I cover all the features and controls including how to set it up for cameras with and without pre-flash. i also explain how the quite small controls can be operated when wearing gloves. During the talk I answer some questions made in the comments live and also near the end of the talk I chat a bit about the UK diving industry and what customers can do to help it.
Annoyingly as with several other Facebook Live videos I’ve done for some reason it won’t let me share as an embedded link in the blog. Instead you’ll need to click on the image below which will take you to the video on our Facebook page.
I’ll include some relevant links below the image for more information.
The gin I was drinking this time was Edinburgh Gin’s Classic Gin.
We are an official Inon dealer in the UK and can supply the full the range of products and spare parts. For more information about our approach to selling underwater photography equipment go to our Equipment Sales page. Specs and data for the S2000 can be found on Inon’s website.
I’ve also down a blog based around a talk I did looking at other Inon strobes both current and discontinued.
The batteries we currently use are Energizer AA 2000mAh Rechargeables and have done for a long time with various strobes without issue. But Inon recommend Eneloop AA BK-3MCC 1900mAh Rechargeables or Eneloop AA BK-3HCD 2500mAh Rechargeables. Eneloop is now a Panasonic brand rather than Sanyo.
Correction: While Slave-TTl is the common term Inon’s official term for S-TTL is Optical Synch TTL. For more about Inon’s S-TTL system here’s the page on Inon’s website.
For more on secondhand equipment go to my guide to buying used underwater photography equipment.
I mentioned Scuba Diver Magazine during my chat and we’ve gathered together the links to all the magazine articles about underwater photography.
