A Guide to Trays and Handles for Underwater Photography

Phil and Adam Hanlon talk about using compact cameras underwater on Wetpixel Live
At the Go Diving Show a couple of weeks ago I was asked by Adam Hanlon of Wetpixel to do a couple of chats on their Wetpixel Live YouTube series. Here’s the first of them where we talk about the trends in entry level equipment for underwater photography and why in general a compact camera is still a good option.
We are dealers in a range of underwater photography equipment and also run workshops in the UK and overseas. Email info@alphamarinephoto.com to book on workshops, buy equipment or get advice.
What Cameras and Lenses we use. Facebook Live Video with Notes and Links
I did another Facebook Live session on Thursday where this time I talked about the cameras and lenses Anne and myself use for both underwater photography and on land. Here is the complete, unedited version if you didn’t see it live. I looked at mirrorless versus DSLR, sensor sizes and what lenses suit different types of photography including some sample shots. Also what ports for underwater housings go with the lenses and some of the specific features of Olympus Micro Four-Thirds cameras.
