A few weeks ago I took part in a live chat with Mark Evans from Scuba Diver Magazine and my friend and Red Sea Photo Camp co-host Paul ‘Duxy’ Duxfield. We talked about among other things the quite different ways we got started in underwater photography, some of our favourite places to take pictures and some of the funniest moments we’ve had.
My latest live chat on our Facebook Page was looked at a couple of subjects that viewers asked about during previous talks. This time I looked at the features and differences between the various strobes in the INON range including early ones that are no longer made but can still be found on the used market. After that I talk about using ring flashes and why I don’t use one myself.

I did another Facebook Live session on Thursday where this time I talked about the cameras and lenses Anne and myself use for both underwater photography and on land. Here is the complete, unedited version if you didn’t see it live. I looked at mirrorless versus DSLR, sensor sizes and what lenses suit different types of photography including some sample shots. Also what ports for underwater housings go with the lenses and some of the specific features of Olympus Micro Four-Thirds cameras.
